I have just finished my Angel of the North and he has gone off to be scanned by local art printer Paul Wright today, so he'll soon be available as a print and greetings card.
Also included in this photo are some rather tangled examples of skeins of my favourite brand of yarn made by Japanese producer Eisaku Noro. I love using Noro yarns in my work as they are incredibly beautiful and, with only a few exceptions, made from natural fibres of the highest quality. My favourites types are Noro "Iro" and "Kogarashi" both of which are sadly discontinued now. They are both chunky, multi coloured yarns made from mixture of wool and silk and perfect for adding detail and outlines. The rehabilitation of the repetitive strain injury in my right arm (caused by too much needle felting) is coming on well now. Although I am still seeing a physiotherapist regularly, I am now able to do 2 x 45 minute sessions of work in a day, as long as I have a good rest and do my stretching/exercises in between work sessions. It's really good to be working again.
